KartSport NZ would like to offer a massive congratulations for two members of our KartSport family, Alex Crosbie & Jacob Douglas who are two of 24 finalists for Asia Pacific Region of the Ferrari Driver Academy selection program.
Held on 25-28 September in Sepang, Malaysia, all drivers are aged between 14-17 and will complete two days of testing on track in an F4 car, plus enjoy classroom sessions.


The top six drivers will then move on to a third day of further evaluation, with an eventual successful two drivers being invited to attend the World Final in Italy, competing against drivers from other regions around the world. The overall winning driver will potentially be offered a place in the Ferrari Academy.
Speaking on the opportunity, both drivers were equally excited about the opportunity.’
“It’s pretty exciting. It should be an amazing experience and to be chosen as 1 of 24 from the Asia Pacific region is awesome. It will take me out of my comfort zone and hopefully help with my season ahead in Formula Ford.” – Alex Crosbie

“It’s exciting to represent not only New Zealand but therefore KartSport New Zealand on the next step of the ladder in Motorsport. Nowadays Academy’s and Driver Programmes such as the Ferrari Driving Academy are vital to growing in the sport and making the right contacts. It would also be very cool to hopefully follow my fellow Christchurch driver, Marcus Armstrong’s path into the Ferrrari Academy.
