Welcome to Kāwhia Boating & Angling Club Inc (KBAC)
Nestled on the rugged west coast of Aotearoa, KBAC is proud to be the NZSFC Club of the Year 2023. We may be a small club, but we’ve got big heart, strong community spirit, and a deep love for the sea. Our club is built on connection - between whānau, friends, and fellow fishing enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned angler, a weekend boatie, or just here to enjoy the coastline, you’re in good company.
We host a range of competitions and social events throughout the year, support sustainable fishing practices, and welcome new members with open arms. From club days on the water to shared yarns back at the ramp, KBAC is all about making memories and looking after each other. We’re proud of our local waters and the unique west coast conditions that make every trip an adventure—where resilience, respect for the ocean, and good humour go hand in hand.
The club is open Friday and Saturday from 5pm ‘til late (hours may vary over long weekends and during summer). Come and enjoy a drink, a yarn, and a meal with a view many only dream about.
