After a stellar performance from the boys, securing a 26–12 victory over the Taranaki Bulls last Saturday, the Magpies continue their championship charge with a mouth-watering Semi-Final clash against Canterbury this Saturday, 18th October, 7.15pm at Apollo Projects Stadium, Christchurch.
The Magpies have named another strong side for the knockout clash, featuring one change in the backline — Anaru Paenga-Morgan steps in for Le Roux Malan, who unfortunately fractured his cheekbone in last week’s encounter.
This weekend’s match also marks a special milestone for Isaia Walker-Leawere, who will bring up his 50th game for the Magpies. It comes in the same week Isaia was named in the All Blacks XV, alongside teammates Folau Fakatavaand Devan Flanders — a well-deserved recognition for all three players.
The Magpies are ready for another huge challenge as they head south to take on a strong Canterbury outfit, with a place in the 2025 Bunnings NPC Final on the line. Expect passion, power, and plenty of black-and-white pride from the Hawke's Bay boys.
