Marist Junior Rugby 2022

Welcome to the 2022 Junior Rugby Season.  Below are some important dates and information you will need as the season gets underway.                         


Walk in Registrations are being held on the following dates at the Marist Clubrooms, 17A Pascal Street.  Please bring your vaccine pass and wear a mask.

Sunday, 20th February  -  2.00pm-4.30pm

Wednesday, 23rd February  -  5.00pm-7.00pm

Saturday, 5th March  -  2.00pm-4.30pm

JUNIOR RUGBY CLUB DAY  -  Sunday, 27th March     

At the Marist Clubrooms, 17A Pascal Street

It is important to attend Club Day, as this is when you find out what team your child is in.  This is also the first opportunity for players and their parents to meet their Coach and other members of their team. 

Times will be posted closer to the time as we will be splitting our team naming into Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams.

JUNIOR RUGBY UNIFORM   -   All players MUST turn out in the correct uniform

Your jersey is supplied by the club and is to be returned at the end of the season.  Marist Junior Rugby socks and shorts are available from Kellys’ Footwear, on Main Street.  Shorts are $39.50 and socks $14.  Plus, Kellys’ have a special offer for all MJR families – when purchasing a pair of rugby boots, let them know you are from MJR and receive a FREE pair of MJR socks (RRP $14).  Players in all grades must wear rugby boots.  Please note that for safety reasons players are not permitted to wear boxer shorts under their rugby shorts.  


Once again, we are taking orders for Marist Rugby Hoodies. These are available with our newly upgraded Marist logo on the front, and a name printed on the back.  Childs sizes (6-12) are $47 and Adults (XS-3XL) $57.   (N.B.  Orders will not be completed unless full payment is received).


The season begins on Saturday, 14th May and finishes on Saturday, 27th August.  The date for the Marist Junior Rugby 7’s Tournament is pending - Covid traffic light level dependant.

Please note that these dates are all subject to the Government traffic light status at the time.


To support our junior rugby members, we are seeking sponsorship for each of our teams.  $100 will secure you naming rights for a team for the 2022 season plus naming rights to the team photo.  $500 will give you team and team photo naming rights, your business constantly being advertised via our Facebook Page, at our Skills & Drills, Family Club Days, Club Day, Prize Giving and any other event MJR hold throughout the season.   • With online registering, please make sure you add an up-to-date email address and a correct, current contact number (childrens school email accounts are not acceptable).  Should an emergency occur we need a current phone number to be able to make contact IMMEDIATELY.
  • If you wish to pay your registration fees via internet banking please ensure you use the players surname and NZRU player number, i.e. Smith 951357, as your reference.
