Reclassifications - Nelson Premier Division to Mainland Football - Marlborough Div 1

Up to a maximum of two players may be regraded from a Nelson Premier Grade Team, provided to a lower league team, provided the team is the ‘next’ possible team. Players may not move beyond ‘one team’ from where they would be classified.

Player Movement Notification
To ensure transparency and compliance with the Competition Regulations, all clubs are required to advise Mainland Football of any player movement between teams each week - deb@mff.nz
All player movements must be submitted no later than 3.00 pm on the day prior to the scheduled game. For example, for Saturday fixtures, player movements must be received by 3.00 pm on Friday.
Your email will give the player's name, their allocated team, and the team they are moving to.
A Player Movement Register will be published each Friday evening, enabling all clubs and teams to view any approved player movements before the weekend matches.
It is the responsibility of each club to ensure all player movements are submitted by the required deadline. Failure to do so may result in the player being deemed ineligible to participate in the fixture.
Movement of Players Within the Same Division
- Players are not allowed to slide across to any other teams within the same division.
Movement of Players Across Divisions
- Each player is registered to one team for the 2026 season. This is their allocated team.
- Players cannot move to another team within the same division during Round 2 of the 2026 season.
- Players may move down one division only from their allocated team.
- Once a player has moved down to a lower division team, that team becomes the only lower division team they are eligible to play for during the remainder of the 2026 season. Players may not move between multiple lower division teams.
Players Moving Up
- There is no restriction on players moving to a higher division to make up team numbers, regardless of whether they have already played a match that weekend, provided they have not taken the field in another match on the same playing day.
- A player who plays three (3) consecutive matches in a higher division will be reclassified to that higher division.
- Once reclassified, the player is no longer eligible to play in a lower division for the remainder of the season.
Players Moving Down
- Players registered in a higher division may move down only to make up the starting eleven (11).
