Founders & Early Builders

  • Manu Rhind (Founding President, 2000–2008) — visionary leader who established the club’s winning culture.
  • Richie Rhind — backed the club financially in its early years.
  • Colin Walsh & Greg Whaiapu — encouraged the move to Marlins RL and helped get our first teams across.
  • Don & Fay McDonald — founding managers of the first Marlins Premier team.
  • Dellwyn Rhind— early coach and mentor who helped set playing standards.

Presidents & Leadership

  • Manu Rhind (2000–2008) — multiple early championships.
  • Tracey Stowers (2008–2015) — grew juniors and rep pathways, cementing development as core business.
  • Tracy Walters (2015–2018) — led the club through incorporation in 2016 and strengthened governance/operations.

Whānau Lines (Generations in the Club)

Major Club Achievements

  • Nominated for Counties Manukau Sports Club of the year – 2006,2025
  • PNC Club of the Year — six awards (including, 2022,2023, 2025).
  • Prem 1, Senior A, Senior A Reserve — title winners on a number of occasions throughout the past 25 years.
  • Kurangaituku (Rotorua) — A-grade winners (2004); B/C grade winers and runners-up in recent years.

Honouring Manu

  • In 2023 we established the Tohu Rangatira a Manu Rhind — an annual award for outstanding performance and contribution to the club.

  • This “Tohu” is awarded to someone who has displayed a real passion and heart for our club, as a player, official, role model and all round club member. They are committed and dedicated, unwavering and loyal to Marlins Netball . They are an outstanding role model as a player and have shown great talent over many years with the club and continue to do so week in and out.   Not only do they play but they have also  provided  support to the club in an official capacity and shown great skills and knowledge of the game of netball. They embody manaaki me te aroha for the Marlins Netball Club and are a great example of the legacy that Manu Rhind leaves behind.
