Miniball is the junior version of basketball, fast-moving and full of skill. A dynamic, high-energy sport where quick movement and sharp skills keep the game constantly flowing. With teamwork, fast passes, and those satisfying shots, it’s an exciting and engaging sport for everyone. Miniball gives everyone a chance to enjoy the excitement, teamwork, and fun of the game!

LEVELS          

Years 5&6.

TERMS          

Terms 2 and 3.

TEAM SIZE

The ideal number is 7-8 players. There are 5 on the court at one time.

Team formation will depend on interest; if a full team isn’t possible, Years 5 and 6 may have the opportunity to join the Years 7 and 8 competition.

GAME LENGTH

2 x 15-minute halves with a 2-minute break in between.

COST            

$50 per term

COMPETITION
Teams will be entered in possibly the Karori Rec Centre competition, held on Tuesday afternoons (TBC - awaiting 2026 competition details from KRC).

Season Dates - beginning early May - July, exact dates TBC.

PRACTICES             
One practice per week at a lunchtime.

COACHING AND MANAGING

It is compulsory for all Marsden sports teams to have an appointed parent manager. If you are able, please consider supporting your daughter’s team by taking on this role for the season. Team managers will coordinate the team, including all communications between the Sports Department and their team parents. 

Many of our teams may be coached by keen older Marsden students, but we would however also love to hear from any parents who are keen to coach too! 

UNIFORM 

Marsden PE uniform - Tee and Shorts, as well as Basketball or appropriate sports shoes, and white socks.
