PLEASE NOTE SHOOTING BEGINS IN SUMMER (TERM 1) BUT IS PRIMARILY A WINTER SPORT. ​​​​

Brooklyn Smallbore Rifle Club will be using Royal Tiger Range, 131 Russell Terrace, Newtown


INTRODUCTORY PROGRAMME

The Brooklyn Smallbore Rifle Club offers an introductory programme that is held on the four Sundays in March, and includes personal guidance on firearm and range safety, use of specialised club equipment, coaching, targets and all the ammunition you need over those four weeks.

At the end of the programme you will be assessed and if you’ve shown the right attitude and performance then you may be selected and offered a place in the Samuel Marsden Shooting Team.


COST            

$120.00 four-week introduction to shooting programme held on four Sundays in March with sessions at 6:30pm – includes a safety briefing, coaching, use of club equipment, and ammunition.


TRAINING FOR THOSE SELECTED AFTER THE PROGRAMME

After the selections are made, team training is Sundays from 6.00pm until 8.00pm.  The team will also go to shooting competitions around the Wellington region. If selected the shooters will be expected to commit to attending a number of club and inter-club competitions as well as inter-school shooting events through the season. The fees cover all club membership and affiliations, coaching, training materials, use of club shooting equipment and 500 rounds of ammunition.

If selected then you’ll be part of a team that has a long history of high-performance, with Samuel Marsden Collegiate shooters having represented the Wellington region all the way up to earning their School Colours by shooting internationally in the New Zealand Secondary School’s team.
