MONTHLY SPECIES CHALLENGE

The Matarangi Boat & Fishing Club (MB&FC) Monthly Mystery Weight Species Challenge is designed to encourage members to get out fishing throughout the current season, with a different target species each month. See Competition Rules at the bottom of this page. 

Monthly Mystery Weight Species Challenge Rules

The Matarangi Boat & Fishing Club (MB&FC) Monthly Mystery Weight Species Challenge is designed to encourage members to get out fishing throughout the current season, with a different target species each month.

Competition Format

1. The competition is open to current season Junior & Senior financial members of the Matarangi Boat & Fishing Club.

2. Includes boat, land based and konitki fishing.

3. Fish must be caught within the boundary of the MB&FC sponsorship grid.

4. Standard club weigh-in procedures must be followed.

5. The target species changes each month. The current and following month's species will be displayed on the website so members can plan their fishing in advance.​​​​​​​

6. The monthly prize will be either $50 cash or a prize to the value of $50.

7. If there is no qualifying fish in a month, the prize will jackpot to the following month's challenge.

8. Fish caught in 1 of the 5 club tournaments are not eligible for this competition.

Winner Announcement

1. The mystery weight and monthly winner will be announced within the first seven days of the following month via email, Club website and social media pages.

2. The Committee's decision on the winning fish is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

General

1. MB&FC reserves the right to amend these rules if required.

2. Participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of these rules.

Please call one of the following Weighmasters on your trip home so they can meet you at the weigh station located at the Fire Station.
