Manurewa Mets runs and hosts the Southern Slowpitch League.  All games in the Southern Slowpitch League are played at Mountfort Park on a Tuesday evening, from 6.30pm, with the season beginning in October/November.

The main difference between Fastpitch and Slowpitch is the pitch, which must come in slowly with a perceptible arc of between 1.8 and 3.6 metres (6 and 12 feet) from the ground.  This is what makes Slowpitch great as a social game.  Get together with a team of family, friends or work mates, and enjoy hitting, fielding, throwing and catching the ball.

Other key differences include no bunting or stealing, and teams have an extra outfielder, meaning each team fields 10 players, rather than 9.  For all the rules on how to play Slowpitch Softball, Click Here or visit the 'Slowpitch NZ' tab.

Southern Slowpitch League will not be running over the 2016/2017 season.

Team Registrations for the 2017/2018 season will be available in Sept/Oct 2017. If you are interested in entering a team into the Southern Slowpitch League, please contact Diana Petera, for further information. Alternatively, please Click Here for a registration form and copy of the League rules.
