Hi everyone, Hope you all by now are seeing our newsletters on the website. This letter is a kind reminder of the 1st Kumite Tournament for the year. Check the calendar section for all details. But just to let you know the tournament is on Sunday 18th April the day before school starts. Each club is encouraged to be a team and support each other. This creates a competitive envirorment for all 3 clubs of Miyagi Kan. Each club is awarded points for attendance. In other words the club that has the biggest team gets 50 bonus points. The club that is 2nd 25points and 3rd 10 points. Just to let you know that each club has close to the same number of students. So it is very important as a club to make sure you are all there to compete and support. I liken it to say a football team or netball team. Imagine you go to the competition and only half your team turns up. How embarresing!!! We don't want that happening with our tournaments. With the calender available each club team can prepare in advance for the day and or make submissions to me if these dates are not have in agreeance with. You must understand though that the dates are only put in place as a guidance to how many tournaments we can fit in comfortably without them being too close together, in a year. So try and keep these dates in YOUR calendars to remind you that these dates are important for your club activities. With only 6 or so events for the club each year its not too much to ask for. Afterall the 2 main things that come out of each tournament is 1, club fundraising and 2, The growth and development of students that participate so the parents can see this each time.
