The Mount Mustangs Club will be running a Junior Hockey Program in 2023. This development training is designed to teach kids between the age of 5 and 12 how to skate and learn inline hockey skills such as passing, shooting, defense and team plays.

Ponies Development Hockey

PONIES DEVELOPMENT TRAINING: Thursdays 5.30 - 7.00pm
The Ponies development training is to teach kids basic skating and puck handling skills to get them started in the sport. Our club has acquired some equipment for kids to use, such as skates, sticks, gloves knee-shin guards, elbow guards and helmets (however a bike helmet can be used to start with). Once these basic skills are mastered, they can progress towards playing some scrimmge games and eventually joining the Mustangs Junior Team to compete in the Central League.

PONIES COST: $70.00 per school term.

Competitive Hockey

MUSTANGS JUNIOR TEAM PRACTICE: Wednesdays 5.30 - 7.30pm
Kids who can skate relatively well and can manage the puck with their stick can opt to play in the Mustangs Junior Team, which will play in the Under 10s grade in the Central North Island League. As our club does not yet have a suitable venue to host inter-club games, the team will be required to travel to other venues in the region including, Hamilton, Waihi and possibly New Plymouth.

MUSTANGS JR TEAM COST: $360.00 per year (family discounts available).
