ABOUT

Each year, nearly 900 students represent the college in over 30 different codes, either as individuals or in teams. Throughout the year many of our teams travel further afield to experience the sporting opportunities on offer through national tournaments, annual exchanges and international opportunities.

Our commitment to sport has been further highlighted with the development of our Institute of Sport and subsequent growth of numbers participating across all codes.

Institute of Sport (IOS) — IOS aims to build successful, well-rounded people, not just successful athletes. The programme at Year 9 includes goal setting, athlete and team development, principles and methods of training, skill development, event preparation, hydration and sports nutrition.

Students decide to play sport for a myriad of reasons; Nayland recognises this and endeavours to offer a wide range of sporting opportunities for our students.

We are represented by individuals and teams from local competitions to national tournaments. The College also offers exciting overseas sports trips. In 2019 our Girls Volleyball team travelled to Hawaii.

Sport will always play a big role at the College and Nayland will encourage our students to participate and excel in whatever sport they choose.
