Northland Netball was re-established in 2021 with all six centres contributing to its development. Mangonui NC, Kerikeri NC, Whangarei NC, Rodney NC, Northern Wairoa NC & Bay of Islands NC are proud to offer Northland based representative & performance programmes.
Vision:
To support emerging talent including Athletes, Umpires, Coaches and Managers in their netball journey.
Aims:
- Provide opportunities for Coaches, Managers and Athletes to represent Northland
- Provide a pathway and increase opportunity for coaches, managers and athletes who aspire to work in the performance environment
- Connect umpires aspiring to reach national squads with training opportunities to develop their skill set.
- Raise our performance capabilities
- Create & provide a safe environment for learning & development in the performance space
Implementation Plan:
Year One - 2022
- Establish systems and processes for a fair and transparent representative programme
- Field an Under 18 Squad to attend the Auckland Representative Circuit
- Provide a Post Season Development Camp
Year Two - 2023
- FIeld an Under18 Team to attend the Netball NZ Under18 Champs
- Promote & gain interest in an Opens Team to attend the Netball NZ Opens Champs in 2024
- Establish a Post Season Development Programme
Year Three - 2024
- FIeld an Under18 Team to attend the Netball NZ Under18 Champs
- Field an Opens Team to attend the Netball NZ Opens Champs
- Cement the Post Season Development Programme
Northland Netball is endeavouring to provide a long term sustainable programme for Coaches, Managers, Support Staff and Atheletes to competitively represent Northland at National Events.
