Hello and Welcome to the NZ Datsun Club Inc Annual Datsun Nationals Labour Weekend October 2026.

This year are separate North and South Island Meets.

Here is a brief layout for the Oamaru weekend, an official itinerary will be sent with Confirmation of your Registration.

Friday Oct 23rd:

Travel Day, 6.30pm Drinks - venue TBC

Convoys - If anyone has already made plans for meet ups please make sure to let others know be nice to have those travelling from north or south stick together.

Saturday Oct 24th:

10am Meet at Oamaru Penguins carpark.

10.30am Depart for Moeraki - walkaround and sightseeing until lunch.

12pm BBQ Burger lunch at Moeraki Reserve/Fleurs Place carpark.

1pm Depart Moeraki for Shag Point.

1.30pm Depart Shag Point for Oamaru - Show & Shine Scott's Brewery carpark.

(Option for Old Oamaru walkaround/Steampunk Museum visit before dinner)

5.30pm Scott's Brewery for drinks & dinner.

Sunday Oct 25th:

9.30am Meet at Oamaru Penguins carpark.

10am Depart for Tekapo via canal roads and Omarama (Fuel available in Omarama, Twizel, and Tekapo).

1pm Lunch at Tekapo.

2pm Depart Tekapo for Oamaru via Fairlie and Pareora.

5.30pm Scott's Brewery for drinks, dinner, AGM & prizegiving.

Monday Oct 26th:

Breakfast meetup in Old Oamaru - depart for home

The roads north of Whangārei are some of the best cruising roads in the North Island and suit classic Datsun’s perfectly.

Friday Oct 23rd:

Make your own way to Paihia or organise to travel in groups.

Dinner: Organise Individually

Saturday Oct 24th:

Hokianga Loop

Approx: 236 km – 3Hrs 40Min - Driving time to lunch - 1.5 Hrs

Route:

Paihia→Kawakawa→Kaikohe→Ōmāpere (Lunch)→Te Matua Ngahere, Waipoua KauriForest→Ōpononi→Kaikohe→Paihia

Lunch: Pub in Ōpononi Hotel overlooking the harbour.

Highlights:

• Hokianga Harbour lookouts
• Te Matua
• Sweeping country roads
• Very little traffic

Fun activity: Datsun Poker Run - Each stop earns a playing card. Best hand wins.

Afternoon: Return to Paihia.

Dinner: Swordfish Club

Sunday Oct 25th

East Coast to West Coast Explorer

Approx: 289 km - 4.5 hours driving - Driving time to lunch - 1.5 Hrs

Route:

Paihia→Kerikeri→Matauri Bay→Whangaroa→Kaeo→Mangonui (Lunch)→Taipa→Matthews Vintage Collection→Ahipara→Herekino→Kerikeri→Paihia

Lunch: Mangonui Hotel / The Mangonui Fish Shop

Activities

• Group photo at Matauri Bay

• Scenic harbour photo stop at Whangaroa Harbour
• Best coastal photo competition

Dinner: CBK
