Nic Downes (Auckland coach): “It’s a funny one having a bye, everyone would probably rather just carry on with the league and keep playing games but at the same time it’s nice to have a little breather and reflect on where we’re at. Capital can certainly score goals, they’re a danger going forward now. They caused us some problems down there, stopping what we wanted to do. They’ve evolved as the season’s gone on but so have we, so it should be a good match-up.”

Natalie Lawrence (Capital coach): “We’re looking to develop each game and hold ourselves to high standards but looking to a much longer-term vision, something the whole team buys into. It will certainly pay off in the future. The team is looking forward to playing away to Auckland, they’ve had some pretty good results at home and we know this will be a real tough test, they’re a different team to what we played down here.
