Experienced coaches.  Different journeys.  A shared passion for developing riders, coaches and Pony Club.

Bringing coaching knowledge, practical experience and fresh ideas to Pony Clubs across New Zealand, our National and Association Coaches are here to support riders, coaches, examiners, Clubs and Regions.

Between them, they bring experience from Pony Club, competitive equestrian sport, coach development, examining, mentoring and education – both in New Zealand and overseas.

They are active coaches and facilitators who can help your Club or Region develop confident coaches, improve rider learning and bring new ideas into your Pony Club programme.

National Coaches

Leading coach and examiner development across New Zealand

NZPCA National Coaches provide national leadership in coach education, examiner development and Certificate examining. They lead and deliver clinics and workshops, support ECTP coach development and assessment, mentor coaches and examiners, and examine at the highest NZPCA Certificate levels.

Association Coaches

Growing coaching capability across our Clubs and Regions

NZPCA Association Coaches are experienced coaches who play an important role in coach development, ECTP assessment and suport, Certificate examining and practical coaching. They work alongside National Coaches and with Clubs, Regions to deliver coach and examiner education and build knowledge, confidence and capability.

From Pony Club rider to BHSII and National Coach, Jane brings a lifetime of practical experience developing confident riders, coaches and examiners.

KAY HOGAN

NZPCA National Coach & Life Member

From training her own horse for her NZPCA A Certificate to BHSI, leading equestrian education and coach development, Kay brings a lifetime of experience developing riders, coaches and horses. 

JACQUE MCKINLEY

NZPCA National Coach

From gaining her A and H at just 16 to BHSII training at Talland and coaching around the world, Jacque brings international experience and a passion for developing riders.

HELEN EGAN

From an unsuitable first Standardbred to BHSII in the UK and coaching overseas, Nicola brings international experience and a lifelong passion for Pony Club.

A BHSI and experienced coach across all levels, Peter brings decades of practical coaching, examining and rider development experience to Pony Club.

From the Pony Club kitchen to coaching an Inter-Pacific team in America, Louise brings practical experience, a love of developing coaches and a passion for helping every rider succeed.

LUCY CHALCRAFT

From Dunedin Pony Club to a 30-year international career across the UK, Spain, Singapore, UAE and USA, Lucy brings BHSI extensive experience in coaching, training horses and developing riders.
