Concussion - Signs & Symptons
Physical Signs - things YOU see
- Loss of consciousness or non-responsive
- Lying on the ground, slow to move or get up
- Loss of balance or co-ordination
- Disorientation or confusion
- Visible injury to face or head
- Seizure or convulsion
- Vomiting
Symptons - things THEY feel
- Blurred vision
- Neck pain
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Confusion
- Difficulty sleeping
- Headache
- Sensitivity to light / noise
- Generally unwell
- Fatigue / Drowsiness
- More emotional / irritable
- Memory difficulties
- Reduced ability to concentrate
If a suspected concussion has occured, it is important to see a medical doctor for assessment immediately.
Any rider who is suspected of having suffered a concussion injury must be removed immediately from play and not allowed to return until clearence is given, in writing, by a medical doctor.
