Otago Cricket is entering an exciting new chapter. As community cricket across New Zealand evolves under the new Community Cricket in New Zealand Strategy 2026-2030, Otago Cricket is investing in a new leadership role focused on youth development, coach capability and strengthening the pathway between community and performance cricket.

We are seeking an exceptional Coach & Youth Development Lead to join our Community Cricket team and help create a thriving future for young cricketers across Otago.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the development of players and coaches, build strong partnerships with secondary schools and clubs, and play a pivotal role in ensuring more young people stay connected to cricket and reach their potential.


Additional Information

This role requires regular travel throughout Otago and occasional travel outside the region.

The successful applicant will be expected to work flexible hours, including regular evenings and weekends, reflecting the nature of community sport and cricket delivery.

BOARD VACANCIES

Board Directorship - Due to the Board three-year rotation policy, OCA is seeking three Appointed Board Directors to join its Board from its AGM held on Wednesday 28th October 2026. Two incumbent Board Directors retire by rotation in October (each can seek re-appointment back onto the Board). Due to an earlier resignation, another Board Director is currently a co-opted Director and constitutionally will be required to seek one of the two positions.

Participation Activators

Southland | Dunedin | Otago Country | North Otago

Join us this summer (from October to March) and help create fun, engaging cricket experiences that inspire people to get active and stay involved in our game.

About the Role

As a Participation Activator, you'll work with schools, clubs, and communities to deliver programmes, events, and initiatives that grow participation across the Southern region.

You'll be involved in:

  • Delivering cricket participation programmes

  • Supporting events, festivals, tournaments and competitions

  • Promoting participation opportunities within local communities

  • Working alongside coaches, volunteers, schools, and clubs

  • Creating positive experiences for participants of all ages

About You

We're looking for enthusiastic people who:

  • Have a passion for sport and active communities

  • Enjoy working with people and building relationships

  • Have some experience coaching or working with coaches in sport.

  • Are reliable, organised, and energetic

  • Have strong communication skills

  • Hold (or are working towards) a full driver's licence
