Rod Bannister (Chairman):

Worked in the high-performance space for Squash Australia. Played squash for nz as a junior and masters rep. Coached cricket/squash in Hong Kong, Trinidad, Germany, Namibia, Australia, NZ, UK.

Dad of 4 very active girls, husband of Marama. Director of Sport, King’s High School. 

Fan of the Broncos since 1988!


Kara Moroney (Secretary): 

Mum to 3 and bonus Mum to 1 very sporty kids who keep me very busy, new to Rugby League and manage both the U14 and U18 Otago girls rep teams currently - looking forward to committing my time and efforts to getting the junior and youth grades really moving in the Otago district.


Paul Tyson (Treasurer):

Retired after 42 years teaching and five years in the Finance Department of Sport Otago. Actively involved in athletics as a coach, administrator and official at local, provincial and national level. Managed and Coached the New Zealand Schools teams to three Pacific School Games. Played Rugby for a number of years before injury saw me take up Refereeing. I am still involved with coaching and mentoring young referees.


Nathan Jones (Board member): 

Father to my beautiful daughter Tariana. 

Recently moved home from 15 years in Melbourne. 20 years as a fitness professional and now leading the Warriors Academy here in Dunedin. 

Passionate about helping others discover their potential. 


Tane Whitehead (Board member):

People person, aspiring coach in the female space #yeahthegirls! Run two podcasts, try to play footy myself, and just take on every new opportunity that comes my way. Born and raised in Taranaki, played rugby league at a national level growing up for Mid Central Vipers, and now get to coach at a national level for South Island Scorpions. An international opportunity to come soon with Niue Rugby League. Watch this space...


Kymberlee Choie (Board Member): 

Sports enthusiast and passionate Canberra Raiders / NSW Blues supporter, born and bred in Dunedin. I am also a commercial lawyer at Gallaway Cook Allan stoked to combine my interests and get involved in rugby league governance. 


David Reedy (Board Member): 

Been involved in rugby league in Otago since 2001 as a player and since 2005 in a coaching capacity, have coached Otago u16 girls, u15, 16, 18s boys, assistant coach for Otago University Rugby League Club and South Pacific Raiders prems in rugby league and the current Otago Whalers coach, I have also coached numerous other sports.

Passionate about providing environments for athletes to grow and be the best them they can be using sport as a vehicle.
