2025-26 Fees

​​​​​​​The Otago Rowing Club offers a FREE Trial Period of one session after which if you must apply and pay for Membership.

Membership runs from 1 September to 31 August.  A discount may apply to full year memberships if joining after 1 January.

 Introduction to Rowing

  • Teaches water safety
  • Basic Boat knowledge and care skills
  • Basic Rowing skills
  • 10 week introduction
  • Initial fee deducted if transferred to full membership

Renewal membership fees will be invoiced on an annual basis.

Alternative arrangements require authorisation by the Treasurer.

Regatta Fees

Per race per regatta

  • Regatta fees will be charged out periodically and are in addition to the membership fees
  • Transport costs are charged on a pro-rata basis

Rowing uniforms

Rackage (boat + oars)

$210 per sliding seat

  • Rackage as available on application to the Committee


Membership subscriptions cover the main running costs and overheads to operate the club. In addition to these Rowing New Zealand will charge an annual licence to race sanctioned regattas (~$120 for the 2025/26 season). Also actual costs of entry fees and a share of transport will be charged to each rower competing in regattas. This will be billed out throughout the season. As these bills are paid on your behalf prompt payment back to the club is required. Unless alternative arrangements are made with the Treasurer accounts outstanding after 60 days will require the return of clubhouse key and rowers will not be eligible to row out of/represent the club. Accounts outstanding after 90 days will be passed to a debt collection agency.
