The pony club season runs between August and the following April. Mounted rallies are held in the grounds of the Otaki race course.

We aim to hold mounted rallies approximately fortnightly on Saturdays, 1.30-3pm prior to the start of daylight saving, then Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:00pm.

Rallies consist of group riding instruction and horsemastership, with between four and six riders per group. At a typical mounted rally, each group would have some flat work coaching, some games and some jumping practice.

Members and supporters help with set up and pack up at each rally.

We are lucky to have three experienced coaches - Mary Pagnamenta, Karyn McLaughlan and Hayley-Ann Oakley. Our head coach is Hayley-Ann Oakley. We also use the experience and expertise of specialist coaches with our riders.

Our rally coordinator, Liz, contacts members before each rally, who must say whether or not they will be attending.

If the weather is too bad for riding, members would have an unmounted horsemastership lesson under cover.
