Code of Conduct


Players not only committing to Otamatea Netball Club, but just as importantly they are committing the rest of their team. Absences from training, games, and any fundraising events (other than those absences that cannot be avoided) are unfair to your team. 
All players must be prepared to agree to the following: 

  • I agree to attend and undertake all training and fitness sessions as set down by my coach.
  • I agree to notify the coach and or manager in advance, when possible, of any absences, stating the reason.
  • I will always be appropriately attired in an approved OHSNC uniform at any game, tournament, or other netball commitments.
  • I undertake to be available for scheduled games.
  • I agree to accept the decisions of the Coach as to the selections of the team to play in each match and to accept the directions of the Manager or other OHSNC officials.
  • I agree at all times to uphold the dignity and good name of OHSNC and to promote the game of netball.

All players must be prepared to abide by the following: 

  • Play the rules
  • Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your captain, coach or manager approach the official during a break or after the competition.
  • Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players, deliberately distracting, or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviors in any sport.
  • Work equally hard for yourself and/or your team. Your team's performance will benefit and so will you.
  • Be a good sport.
  • Treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor.
  • Co-operate with your coach, teammates, and opponents. Without them, there would be nL, competition
  • Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches.
  • Respect the rights, dignity, and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background, or religion.

ALL PLAYERS, PARENTS, COACHES, AND MANAGERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN CODE OF CONDUCT DECLARATION BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS.
