More info....
Races start at 1.30pm so I recommend being there from 1pm, they move pretty quick so good to be there early.  All races should be finished around 3pm - you are free to leave after your race if you wish - although there is prize giving at the end of all races if you place top 3 (medals) or if the school wins any team cups (Points added together from all runners).  Being there early also means you can do a walk around the course beforehand.  Parking is also interesting so be warned - sometimes it is easier to park in Totara Park and walk over the bridge.

The school gazebo will be there so come find me, I usually set up just to the side of the soundshell.

Please sign in at our school table when you arrive and get a school shirt to run in - we have limited sizes so please find the next best if there isn't your child's size.  Please return the school shirt back to the tent for other runners to use!  Do not go home with a school shirt!

If you are a parent who has advised they can help out please do so!  I will be busy on the start line with runners so all help is greatly appreciated :)  Just get stuck in and help :)

  • Don't forget your drink bottle
  • It's on Rain or Shine!  so prepare to be wet if it's raining!
  • No spikes or molded soccer/rugby boots - you will not be allowed to run if you have these on.  Normal sneakers/running shoes only.
  • the first 10 finishers of each age grade from Y4 up are selected to represent Upper Hutt at the Regional Cross country on 27th June in Masterton.
  • Coffee Cart and BBQ on site - both have eftpos
  • Dogs on leashes are allowed

Oxford on BBQ

This year Oxford is on the BBQ fundraiser - we would appreciate if you could all bring something that could be sold on the BBQ.  Baking would be amazing but we'll take anything!  Easy to sell stuff like muffins, chippie/popcorn packs, juice boxes, baking etc would be wonderful.  We don't have many Volunteers at the moment to help out so if you can spare half an hour either side of the race please wander over and help!  Drop off any baking/food directly to the BBQ.

Course map is attached for those that don't know it.

Year 1-4 do one lap.

Year 5-6 do two laps.

Events are run in this order.

“Year 3 and Below” Grade Girls
“Year 3 and Below” Grade Boys
“Year 4” Grade Girls
“Year 4” Grade Boys
“Year 5” Grade Girls
“Year 5” Grade Boys
“Year 6” Grade Girls
“Year 6” Grade Boys

Any questions please let me know - so great having a good size team from our school!  Doesn't matter where you finish - it's awesome that you are all doing it :)  Go Oxford!  Good luck to everyone - from those who are aiming for a top 10 finish to go through to Regionals, and those just doing it to finish :)

PS we can take runners on the day so if you know of anyone interested tell them to come on down!
