Paeroa BMX Club has a proud history in the BMX racing world.  First incorporated in 1987, it has been giving bike mad kids a place to come and tear it up sinces ages ago...!

As a team here at Paeroa BMX, we are dedicated to helping people, all ages and abilities, within our community to come and participate in our given sport.  If you like to ride bikes, we'd like to meet you!

We're a small club run by volunteers (ever patient parents!).  We work hard to keep our track in tip top condition, and our club running smoothly.  We love to see our kids have a great time and welcome all new members to come and have a go.

We are able to provide bikes and full face helmets for hire to any new riders who would like to try, so get in touch and come down to give BMX a go!  All riders will need to wear long sleeve tops, long pants and closed toe shoes, and gloves for safety on the track.

ABOUT BMX

BMX is the only cycling sport that provides an opportunity for young riders to participate in structured, skills-based training and competitions. The sport is a pathway to other cycling sports such as mountain biking, cyclo-cross and road racing. Many cyclists participate across a number of disciplines. Our sport is very social, and family orientated with riders ranging from as young as four to over sixty competing nationally.

The BMX season is from October to April. Most clubs run weekly Training Nights and Club Nights (racing) throughout the season. Weekend race meetings are hosted by different clubs around the country. At race meetings riders race others of a similar age and gender, over five races (motos).

National Championships are held near the end of the season, and for many families this provides a fabulous weekend of friendship and competition.
