The PRFC committee, alongside the GM, are responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day to day activities of the club. This includes making decisions, organising activities, ensuring that we function within the constitution guidelines as well as planning to meet the aims & objectives of the club to continue its success in years to come. 

The role & responsibilities within the committee determine how the committee operates individually and together as a group. To work effectively the committee take responsibility and accountability using a transparent process of honesty and integrity.


A committee member contributes and actively participates in the operations of the club and its activities. Responsibilities include:


1. Regularly attend committee meetings and important related meetings.
2. Makes commitment to participate actively in committee work.
3. Volunteers for and willingly accepts assigned tasks and completes them thoroughly and on time.
4. Stays informed about committee matters, prepares themselves well for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and reports.
5. Gets to know other committee members and builds a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus decision making.
6. Is an active participant in the committee’s annual evaluation and planning efforts.
7. Actively participates in fund raising for the PRFC.

·    Key contact for ARU, Club and Kolmar negotiations

·    Streamline Club operations and link between Exec and ROM



Rugby Operations Manager – Faatiga Lemalu

·    Organises Team Coaches at beginning of year

·    Devises and oversees club coach development

·    Ensures coaching equipment is available to all teams/coaches

·    Ensures coaches are aware of relevant courses

·    Maintains club’s social media

·    Liaises with JRC and Seniors and support where necessary

The Club Delegates are the key liaison with Rugby Committees and the Council of Delegates at Auckland Rugby. 

This is who you contact if you have an issue with another team. 


Key responsibilities are: 

1. To read, understand and abide by Auckland Rugby Union Bylaws 

2. To conduct themselves in a professional and business-like manner while representing the Club and Union. 

3. Expected to attend regular management or sub-committee meetings. 

4. They as a Club Liaison, making sure the right information is passed through to the right people. 

5. Administration of the Union Players – to help with the administration and organisation of the following: 

   • Registration of players 

   • Transfer of players 

   • Discipline of players/judicial requirements 

   • Travel requirements of teams 

   • Competition format and rules 

6. Special NZRU Requirements 

7. Any Other Special Duties 

8. Training If you have any issues with an ARU decision, contact your Delegate with your concerns in writing. Teams must not contact the ARU directly to make a complaint. No correspondence will be entered into on Club matters from anyone but a Club representative; this being the Chairman, Delegate, Rugby Administrator and/or General Manager.​​​​​​​



PRFC AIMS FOR JUNIOR RUGBY 


·     Enjoyment of rugby by all players. 

·     Players, Coaches, Managers, and Parents through mutual efforts gain respect for each other. 

·     That Senior Club success be an integral aim as a result of pride taken by the Junior players, - “That it be all player’s aim to play Senior Rugby for Papatoetoe Rugby Club”. 

·     That the team aspect of rugby is most important and that efforts are made to ensure that social functions both Club wide and within teams be encouraged. 

·     That the Coach and Managers are the key persons for a team and that all Coaches are encouraged to attend Coaching seminars. 

·     That winning is important and that all teams should be put on the field with this as their aim but not at the cost of sportsmanship. All teams should be able to handle losing. 

·     That a Club pattern of rugby should be evolved. 

·     That all players MUST get half a game each as per ARU rules. 

·     To encourage parental involvement with their children and Club members 

·     Players strive to achieve improved personal skills. 



TEAM COACHES GUIDLINES 

·     The Coach must positively reinforce the actions of players. 

·     The Coach must lead by example. 

·     The Coach must be honest with themselves and players. 

·     The Coach must create an enjoyable environment in which to play the game. 

·     The Coach should develop team respect for Referees. 

·     The Coach must give all players the opportunity to participate in the game. 

·     The Coach must insist on Fair Play and Discipline. 

·     The Coach must be reasonable on the demand on player’s time, energy and enthusiasm. 

·     The Coach must encourage Sportsmanship. 




TEAM MANAGERS GUIDLINES 

Team managers are responsible for looking after teams gear and jerseys. Team managers will also communicate results to the Club via the MyRugby App. 



PAPATOETOE RUGBY CLUB GEAR 

The following items are available for each team: practice balls, training cones, hit shields, game jerseys, first aid kit, POD Trophy? and event manager vest. These will be handed out on the Gear Night. Managers will be responsible for all of the above and must return them on the 

Gear Return/Thank You night. 


There are change jerseys available from the office for the occasions that two Papatoetoe teams meet. Jerseys must be returned cleaned the following Wednesday. The team jerseys are to be kept in the sets issued and washed on a player roster system after each game. Please read washing instructions on collar tag. It is Club policy that all intermediate jerseys will be washed by the Club appointed laundry. 

Club Laundry for Intermediate teams: Teams must bring their jersey bag to the managers shack by 9am Monday morning to have their team jerseys washed. The managers shack is located behind the club office. Codes to the gates shall be emailed to the team managers. 

Returning of Gear: Practice balls, Training cones, Kicking Tees, Club Jerseys, Match ball and First Aid kits, Tackle Bags are to be returned at the allocated Gear Return/thank you night. 




SIDELINE MANAGEMENT 

The Team Manager is responsible for sideline management. This includes the following: 

·     Keeping the Team Sheet for every game. 

·     Wearing the orange vest. 

·     Keeping spectators of the fields and behind the ropes. 

·     Encouraging positive sideline behaviour. 

·     Reporting poor sideline behaviour to the grade coordinators.
