Pioneer Darts

2007 - Pioneer entered 2 teams into teh Maungaraki Darts Association Competition, the 2 teams were simply called Pioneer Red & Pioneer Blue.

2008 - In remembrance of Rena Kahu who passed away in January the Pioneer Darts teams changed their names to Pioneer Red- Hawks & Pioneer Blue - Hawks, Rena had been a player in the 2007 Pioneer Red team.

-7 Pioneer players were selected into the region 11 squad to play at the NZ Championships.

Pioneer players Francis Kawana & George Hawkins are runners up in the NZ under 24 Darts Championships.

also in late 2008 Wairarapa was granted status as a stand alone darting region and we no longer had to combine with Upper Hutt to play at the New Zealand Championships.

2009 - 2 new teams are created from the ever increasing interest in dartsand so Pioneer enters 4 teams in the Maungaraki Competition Red, Blue, White & Black.

2010 - Pioneer enter 4 teams in comp Pioneer Red, Blue, White & Black

Pioneer host a darts challenge that features 3 of New Zealands top players, Greg Moss, Neville Moss & Peter (Stumpy)Hunt.

2011 - Pioneer enter 3 (+1) teams in compPioneer Blue, Pioneer Tigers, Solid Az, & although not playing under the Pioneer name The HomesteadTeam are playing out of the Pioneer Club.

2012 - Pioneer Blue Hawks, Pioneer Tigers, & Solid Azreturn, to Homesteadplayers joined into the Pioneer teams.

2013 - Pioneer enters 3 teams into teh compnow named Kaahu, Tui, Huia,each team has 9 players

Pioneer enter 2 teams into the Thursday night Wairarapa Association Comp, Kahurangi & Whero.

2014 - Kaahu, Tui & Huia enter Comp again.

Thursday night teamschange names to Pioneer Red & Blue

2015 - Pioneer enter 4 teams in comp, Kaahu, Tui, are joined by 2 new teams Pioneer Ladies & Pioneer reefies.

2016 - Pioneer enter 4 teams into comp Kaahu, Tui, Reefies & Ladies.

Pioneer player George Hawkins Jnr wins the Wairarapa Open Tournament played at the Kuripuni Tavern.

2017 - Pioneer enters 5 teams in comp, Pioneer Tui, Reefies, Ladies, Cruizers & Pioneer Moumoutahi.

2018 - Pioneer enter 4 teams into comp Pioneer Tui, Reefies, Cruizers & new team Pioneer Soljahz.

2019 - Pioneer enter 4 teams into comp Pioneer Soljahz, Tui, Cruizers, Pioneer Troopers.

2020 - No Darts Covid

2021 - Pioneer enter 4 teams Soljahz, Cruizers, Tui, Troopers.

2022 - Pioneer enter 3 teams in comp Pioneer Soljahz, Cruizers, Tui, 

Mike & Erena retire from darts

Pioneer teams that have won the competition are 2011 Pioneer Blue, 2012 Pioneer Blue, 2019 Pioneer Soljahz, 2022 Pioneer Soljahz, 2023 Pioneer Cruizers.
