R3 Results 2022

Premiers 64 – 17 Eden

The Premier side bounced back from their first up loss with a strong performance against the defending champions at Bell Park on Saturday. Out to an early lead, the Pakuranga back three of Jamie Spowart, Des Spooner and Pita Melino ran rampant scoring six tries between them, and Spowart bagging 35 points himself. The win was a great way to celebrate Fea Puamoto’s blazer game – Puamoto almost commemorating his 40th match with the last conversion of the match, only for it to come off the uprights. After the first-round bye, the Premiers sit in eighth spot on the table and this weekend will travel across the city to face Waitakere.

Premier Development 25 – 12 Eden

The Premier Development made it three from three at Bell Park, with a composed performance against last year’s champions. Pushed by Eden, the PD’s were composed in their efforts and a Simon Fauoo double helped to lock in the bonus point victory. The team sit at the top of the table. This weekend they will also travel across the city to face Waitakere.

Premier Development 2s 31-34 Otahuhu

A tight loss for our Premier Development 2 team, going down to Otahuhu away from home on the weekend. Playing in the First Grade competition, the team are sitting mid-table after the first few matches, and this weekend host top of the table Eden.

U21 Cannons 32 – 7 Grammar TEC

The Cannons showed their skill on Saturday with an impressive 32-7 win over Grammar TEC at home. After a narrow loss last week, the Cannons were strong across the park and scored some classy tries, including a double to Ezekiel Wye, on their way to the bonus point victory. This weekend they’ll be up against Ponsonby at Western Springs.

U21 Guns WBD

A win by default for the Guns meant they were vocal supporters on the sideline for the Cannons on Saturday. They’ve notched up a win and a loss so far this season and will have a tough battle on their hands this weekend away to College Rifles.

Belles 5- 55 Eden

In a historic first, the Pakuranga Belles had their first match EVER on Saturday. It was a proud day for the club, and while the team might not have got the result it was an exciting start for something special at Pakuranga. Manauea Mehau will go down in the books as the Belles first ever try scorer. This weekend they’ll host University.

Presidents

Yet another win for the Presidents, this week across the city at Cox’s Bay Reserve against the Ponsonby Falcons. The highlight of the match was a hattrick scored by Jeremy Cole. This weekend they’ll host Suburbs.
