Need guidance around which grade you should enter?

NOTE: When you ride in a group it’s normally 30% less power required than riding by yourself for the speed indicated.

Below is an estimate of average speeds for each grade, and a range that they usually operate between depending on the course. If you need any more assistance, please email admin@ramblers.co.nz to ask for more information.

  • A Grade: 38km/h (between 36 – 41km/h)
  • B Grade: 36km/h (between 35 – 40km/h)
  • C Grade: 34km/h (between 32 – 37km/h)
  • D Grade: 32km/h (between 30 – 33km/h)
  • E Grade: 27km/h (between 25 – 30 km/h)
  • F Grade: 25km/h (between 20 – 27km/h)
  • G Grade: is Captains Grade - Captains Grade - a controlled ride to teach beginners and kids how to ride in a bunch, rotating and good etiquette etc. The last few Km are for them to battle out for a winner. Lots of fun and encouragement from a mentor rider.
