Redhills Pony Club

We are very excited to introduce our 2021/22 season Coaching Team! Some names you will recognise as returning from previous seasons, some are new - they all have an amazing range of skills and knowledge to share with you, I know you will make them all feel welcome, so (Covid allowing!), bring on the season!!

Wednesday Rides:

Senior Ride - Welcome back Brianna Butler-Gallie! Brianna is an experienced 3-day event rider who has worked in professional yards in Europe, as well as coaching on the Hunter/jumper circuit and at an international camp in New York state. She also has experience breaking in and training young horses, and during her own PC career has represented her branch on multiple teams. Brianna is currently doing a Masters degree in architecture at Akl University.

C Cert Ride - Welcome Hermione Bennett! Hermione is a former Kumeu District rider and hails from a Show Hunter background. She now works full time coaching and riding and starting horses. She has an interest in natural horsemanship, and is passionate about empowering riders through building confidence and understanding. Hermione still has her childhood horse, Brio, whom she has taught Spanish Walk, and other tricks and games!

Saturday Rides:

D+ ride - Welcome Amy Schaare! Amy enjoys coaching at local Pony Clubs, and has experience both with groups and private clients. She enjoys show jumping, trekking and beach riding. She has coached both in NZ and overseas, and enjoys starting young horses and educating them to be safe riding horses. With that in mind Amy has recently completed a long held goal of attending a Kelly Wilson Wild Kaimanawa workshop.

Lead Rein/Beginner Riders - Welcome back Maddison Coleman! Maddison is a former riding member at Redhills, and many will remember her mum Sue as Head Coach! Maddison passed her B Horse Management certificate whilst a member and is looking forward to returning to share her enthusiasm and knowledge with young up and coming Pony Club riders. She is currently at Uni studying psychology, anthropology and sociology, and volunteers as a phone counsellor at Youthline. Maddison also holds her scuba diving license, so if you lose your whip in the creek, she's your girl!

Adult Rides:

Tracey Roff - Welcome Tracy! Tracy adds Redhills to her list of current Pony Clubs - she coaches and is Head Coach at Waimauku branch, coaches at Huapai, and is your Chief Head Coach at Kumeu District Pony Club! Tracey has been riding since age 8, and now enjoys dressage and in-hand showing. She has trained with many well-respected local coaches , and holds her C level ECTP coaching qualification.

Ian Davies - Welcome back Ian! Ian joins us for a 3rd season with the adult ride. He also coaches at Massey PC and holds regular clinics at his own property. Ian trained at the Prince Charles Equestrian Academy in the UK, and has been coaching in NZ for 8 years. He enjoys show jumping and a spot of cross country for fun!

Lastly, I am Nicola, I am helping out in the Head Coach role this season. I hold my BHSII and am an NZPCA National Coach. You may see me pop up in a coaching role occasionally if a relief coach is needed, otherwise I am here to support our coaching team, and all of you riders - looking forward to getting started on a busy and fulfilling season!
