Loan Bowls
As a new or first year bowler, the club has ten (10) sets of loan bowls and can fit you into the perfect size and weight enabling you to experience the game and get a feel for the bowl that suits your current level before you commit to a set of your own.
Junior Mentor
Rewa will assign a junior mentor to support you through your initial bowls journey. Your mentor will be responsible for setting you on your bowls journey ‘gearing you up’ and providing expert instruction on technique and the correct delivery of the bowl as well as the laws and fundamentals of the game.
New bowler sessions
Rewa will group similar skilled bowlers together in a session with a mix of instruction and skill drills to prepare you for play on club days and competitive games at the club.
Rewa Bowling Club prides itself on developing competitive junior bowlers. Once you have mastered the skills required to participate in competitive bowls, Rewa will encourage those members in their first five (5) years of bowls membership to ‘team up’ and compete in as many under five graded competitions as possible.
U5 Mentor
Rewa will assist with playing schedules and team composition as well as continuing to support skill development and game play.
We are fortunate at Rewa to have two senior members who are currently under five Waikato Centre selectors / coaches who will certainly be supporting Rewa’s emerging bowlers.
Qualified Coaching
Rewa currently have three (3) qualified coaches available to support the development and refinement of members skills.
Our coaches are Bowls New Zealand Accredited and prepare players according to the Bowls New Zealand coaching guidelines.
Our coaches are available to provide individual coaching at a mutually agreed time and hold regular club sessions aimed at enhancing skills through drills and match play.
Rewa has two (2) nationally accredited umpires, who assist in this area and provide instruction on etiquette and the more technical rules of the game.
