Driver education

Check out the new driving licence changes which come into effect on Monday 25 January 2027. Many learners will no longer be required to do a defensive driving course.

Fusion Driver Education offers a LTNZ approved defensive driving course, at a cost of $210.

Courses include four in-group sessions and one practical driving session.

There are upcoming courses at Upper Riccarton Library in the school holidays in July.

UC Digital Screen

A group of year 12 students went for a tour around the Digital Screen campus at the University of Canterbury, where the Bachelor of Digital Screen with Honours programme is taught. They got to see the amazing technology and learning spaces that make up the programme including industry-level sound stages, motion capture labs, film editing studios, and a virtual screen production theatre.

 

Careers in Heritage event: Tuesday 4 August

The University of Canterbury Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities is pleased to announce the return of our popular heritage event.

3:30pm to 5:30pm on Tuesday 4 August, at the TSB space, Level 1, at Tūranga in central Christchurch.

This FREE event for senior high school and university students introduces them to some of the many possible careers in arts and heritage.

Guest speakers from across the sector share what's great about their jobs, and let students know what skills and qualifications they need to get into the same work. Students also get to mingle with the speakers over afternoon tea.

  • Tristan Wadsworth, Archaeologist, Underground Overground Archaeology

 

You'll also get to mingle with the speakers over afternoon tea. This is a great chance to ask them questions and make the most of the networking opportunity.

Teachers, parents and caregivers are welcome to attend to support students.

 

Tertiary pathways presentation

On Tuesday 23 June, whānau of year 13 learners were invited to attend a tertiary presentation with career advisors Rachel Best and Rachael Mockford. It was a well-attended event – thank you to everyone who came along!
