WORSER BAY BOATING CLUB

NELSON YACHT CLUB

  • In September local teachers and Enviroschool advisors met together for a professional development day on how to use the NZL Blue belt Ocean Health Monitoring kit, and how to upload data, prior to starting Moanamana with their ākonga.
  • The first Moanamana club learning experience took place in Term 1, 2025

NAVAL POINT CLUB LYTTELTON

  • Penguin Peninsular ProjectAn installation of 100+ ceramic Kororā were installed along the rocky ocean wall. A family-friendly day was held on Sunday 24th November 2024, with activities that promoted connection for future community collaboration.
  • Professional development for local teachers was held in Term 1, 2025.
  • Moanamana kit is available.

BUCKLANDS BEACH YACHT CLUB

  •  In 2024 local teachers and ākonga were trained in Marine Metre Squared surveying and data input, as part of the Hauraki Gulf Monitoring Project
  • Professional development for local teachers was held in Term 2, 2025.
  • ​​​​​​​Moanamana kit is available.

TAURANGA YACHT & POWERBOAT CLUB

  • Connections are being made with local environmental organisations, and background being gained on current projects being implemented in the port area
  • Professional development for local teachers was held in Term 2, 2025.
  • ​​​​​​​Moanamana kit is available.

Hauraki Gulf Monitoring Project 2026

  • Partnering with the New Zealand Marine Studies Centre, we will be getting clubs and schools in Auckland collecting data on the gulf using the Moanamana tools.
  • Interested clubs and schools to register now.
