The 2022 netball season will commence on 14th May 2022.

Oxford Crescent School enters teams from Year 3 to Year 6. We encourage both girls and boys to participate. We play in the competition run by the Upper Hutt Junior Netball Club Inc. Games are played on Saturdays between 8.30am and 2.30pm at Heretaunga College netball courts.

Coaching and Umpiring

Our school would like to enter teams at each class level from Y3-Y6. This is completely dependent on the availability of parents to coach and umpire.  Upper Hutt Junior Netball Club has made it quite clear that each team being entered must have a coach and umpire or that team will not be allowed in the draw.  Umpiring can be shared to lessen the commitment throughout the season, so please consider helping.  Sometimes we are able to secure an umpire through the club for a fee of $20 per week, paid by the team. Umpires Clinics are run by Upper Hutt Netball Club to assist new and experienced umpires.  There are also coaching workshops run by the Upper Hutt Junior Netball Club so even if you’re new to netball or haven’t played in a long time, please consider umpiring or coaching a team.  If you are interested in doing this, please note this on the attached form. Unfortunately if we don’t have enough people to volunteer to coach/share coach or umpire, we will be unable to put teams together.  The umpire and coaching clinics will be held at Heretaunga College courts, the dates are yet to be decided.  We will update our Facebook page when I am advised.

Fees and Enrolling

Fees for this season are $60 per player (no increase from 2021).

(Please note that this fee includes registration fee for Upper Hutt Junior Netball Club, uniform and gear maintenance. It does not include any umpire fees which are $20 per game.)

We welcome payment online via SportsPay (online Registrations) or internet banking.  Please include your child’s name and netball as reference. Our bank details are:

Please note Credit Card or Direct Debit Via Sport$pay will incur a 5% transaction fee

Please enroll online and return your payment by Wednesday 23rd March 2022. Payment of fee upon enrollment secures your child a place in a team.  We are only allowed 9 in a team this year so places are limited.

We are upgrading our netball uniforms this year so there will be a fundraiser for each player.   These are on order and we hope to have them for the start of the season, if not the school will provide a uniform from last year.  We are thankful to Gee and Hickton Funeral Directors donation towards our new Uniforms which means we only need to fundraise a small portion towards total cost!

We have a private Facebook group for our netball squad. This is a great way to communicate information, as well as game results and photos from each week. Please search ‘OCS Netball’ and request to join the group.

COVID Levels
Upper Hutt Junior Netball Club has confirmed they will play under all levels of Covid Traffic Light system, including red. Participation and structure of season may change suddenly.  Upper Hutt Junior Netball Club needs to operate as a vaccine passport compliant event. This means that all players, volunteers and staff who are 12 years and 3 months+ need to have a vaccine certificate.

Vaccine passes are required for all Coaches/Managers and there are NO SUPPORTERS allowed on the courts (you can watch from outside the fence).  We are allowed a maximum of 11 per team including the coach, manager and umpire.
