2025 Sandpit Series - Round 1 - Pre Event Information

If you have not prepaid your entry, please do so NOW.  Pay to Southland Motorcycle Club 03 0931 0152483 00 (name, class and sandpit 1 in the references). Please ensure you add the $5 per round for club day membership if you aren't a member of an MNZ-affiliated club such as SMCC, COMCC, GDMCC etc.

Venue: “The Sandpit”, 29 Pit Road, Invercargill

Sign In Time:  0800 – 0830, please be prompt.  Please take your helmets to sign in, and have your log book filled in with helmet and event details.  Please ensure your helmet is clean.  If you require a One Event Licence, please do this BEFORE signing in.

Riders Briefing: 0845 sharp in your gear

Safety Gear: Please ensure your helmet meets MNZ standards: as of 1/1/2020 Snell approval codes of M2010, M2000 and M2005 cannot be accepted.  Helmet standards are found either on a label on the chin strap, a sticker inside the lining of the helmet, or on the outside rear helmet at the base.  Helmet cameras or mounts are not permitted.  Body armour with back protection must be worn.  More information can be found here https://mnz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Chapter-8-Safety-Gear-Off-Road.pdf

One Event Licence: If you are under 18 years old, the OEL must be counter signed by a parent or guardian. Please queue at the window to the left of the sign in desk and get the OEL first before moving on to signing in.

MNZ club membership: All competitors including those purchasing a One Event Licence must present their club membership card (must be a MNZ affiliated club) - otherwise you will be required to pay $5 for day membership of Southland Motorcycle Club.  If you do not have a current membership card or proof of membership (eg email from club), you will have to pay $5 SMCC day membership.

Track Rules:

  • NO DOGS
  • Tear offs are permitted
  • All bikes must be numbered
  • NO PUSH BIKES AROUND OR WITHIN TRACK AREA
  • Please ensure you go out in the correct practice/race and if your race is split start ensure you start with the correct group.
  • Take your rubbish home with you.
  • No speeding in the pits, otherwise load up your bike and head off.
  • Once racing has commenced there will be no vehicles into the pits past the start gates.

Food/Drink: Coffee cart and food truck will be onsite.  Bring your cash to support them.

Camping: Camping is available but must be self contained.
