The SRPA (Southern Region Petanque Association) is the body formed by the clubs in our regiont to administer the sport in the lower South Island.

We are an incorporated society, holding Annual General Meetings wher oyur Committee Members are elected to office.

Our aims are:

  • To foster the game of Pétanque in our Region.
  • Co-ordinate coaching support for the development of members.
  • Arrange and supervise Regional competitions.
  • Promote, participation in and support for National events.
  • Support the New Zealand Pétanque Association in its attaining of its objects.
  • Promote the participation in and development of Pétanque in community groups, special needs groups and youth.

The SRPA committee is the ruling body for the Region and is made up of an elected President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary and one Committee member  

Clubs affiliate to SRPA  an PNZ and pay a small annual subscription per member.  These affiliation fees cover the  general expenses incurred in running a sport and entitle all full playing members to participate in local, regional, national and International events. 

In general all petanque games are played ,within the rules of the Federation Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal (FIPJP), the world governing body of pétanque.

The SRPA  holds several regional tournaments each year (and these are found in the "Competition & Results" section of this website. Here you will also find information regarding our highly successful InterClub  Competition.

Each Club within the region also hold a number of interesting Tournaments and these also can be found in the same section.
