Concussion Information and Medical Clearance
Concussion Process Information
When a competitor is diagnosed with, or suspected of, concussion at a Speedway NZ track, the Speedway NZ Concussion Protocol is initiated.
The Competitor is stood down for 22 days, where day 1 is the day of the injury.
Once the 22 days have been completed, the competitor must then supply the Steward with the completed Medical Certificate from their Doctor stating they are fit and able to race again.

A competitor diagnosed with Concussion has the ability to apply to the Speedway NZ Office to have their standdown period reduced from 22 days to an absolute minimum of 15 days from the date of the injury. The competitor will be required to see a Specialist of Speedway NZs choice at their own cost.

A medical clearance is required when
The medical clearance must state that you are cleared to return to racing.
If you require a medical clearance to return to racing, your licence in the app will show Yellow with a condition of "Medical Clearance Required". When you wish to return to racing, please take your medical clearance to the Steward to have the condition cleared.
Note: There is no SNZ specific form to complete, a clearance with a doctors stamp/signature is sufficient.
If you wish to compete within 8 days after a teams race, then your doctor must complete the Teams Racing Medical Clearance form.
Present this at your next meeting to the Steward.
