Wairarapa Spitfires Baseball Club was established in 2016 and continues to grow in both player numbers and in development opportunities for our local youth. We invite you to join our fun, supportive club that is committed to developing baseball skills for local girls and boys. Hand-eye coordination, fitness and sportsmanship are the cornerstone of our programme and above all the kids have loads of fun! We encourage family involvement and provide training and support for parents interested in learning about coaching, umpiring and scoring.

2024/25 SEASON INFO

Coaches and management are excited about the upcoming 2024/25 Baseball Season.  The season will start on October 29th and pause for the summer school holidays before re-starting in early February and finishing at the end of March 2025.  All games and trainings are held on the Spitfires Baseball Diamond at Kuranui College, Greytown.

2024/25 PLAYING GRADES

ROOKIE BALL - Ages 5 to 8 play on Saturday mornings at 9am, no additional training

MAJORS 10 & 12U DEVELOPMENT (School years 5 - 8) - Ages 9 - 12 play on Friday afternoons 4 - 5pm, training Thursdays 4 - 5.30pm

MAJORS 14U & 16U DEVELOPMENT (School years 9+) - Ages 13+ play on Friday evenings 5.30 - 6.30pm, training Thursdays 5.30pm

12U/14U/16U TRAVEL TEAMS - Competitive baseball in the Wellington Regional Baseball League. Wairarapa Spitfires Travel Teams will be formed mid-September, email mcwilliamae@gmail.com asap if you are interested.  Games are on Sunday mornings and played at home on the Spitfires baseball diamond at Kuranui College and away at other Wellington regional diamonds, in Terms 4 and 1.

Within our local competition we are flexible with the ages of players in each grade.  Younger players can play in higher grades if they have previous experience/skills playing.

We will be outside on the baseball diamond during the school holidays at 5pm on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays for pre-season training, and at 4pm on Saturdays.  Weather dependent.  Cancellations will be on facebook.  Come to as many as you can.  All welcome, come give baseball a go!
