Why join baseball?

Baseball is a fast growing sport in New Zealand with more than 24 clubs now up and running.  Baseball is the elite professional diamond sport globally, run by the World Baseball Softball Confederation, with professional competitions for men and woman across Europe, Asia, Africa, Japan, North, Central and South Americas.  

Baseball is now providing young New Zealanders with a pathway for higher education through solarships and a chance to play baseball professionally.

In NZ where summer sport typically involves an all day experience, baseball in the Wairarapa provides a quick and fast paced game for kids to enjoy.

Summary of our Constitution

• To promote, organise, foster, and develop the playing of Baseball in the Wairarapa area.
• To provide an avenue for the Wairarapa community to enjoy baseball as a social and competitive activity.
• To introduce and expand baseball as an alternative to existing summer sports.
• To be recognised as a leader in the administration, management and development of a sporting code in New Zealand.
• To maintain liaison with schools in Wairarapa for the purpose of promoting and supporting the game of Baseball.
• To ensure members are proportionality represented across the Wairarapa region.
• To create a central hub within the Wairarapa for playing, socialising, training, and coaching baseball.
