Night 'n Day Rainbow Run

Our Night ’n Day Rainbow Runs are returning to communities across Otago this November – and 2026 is set to be even more colourful, with two new colour stations being added to each event.

Organised by Sport Otago, Night 'n Day Rainbow Runs are a fun way to get active, bring people together and raise funds for Sporting Chance, helping children affected by financial hardship participate in sport.

Whether you run the whole course, walk with friends or bring the whānau along, it’s a colourful day out for everyone.

• Waitaki – Saturday 7 November, Ōamaru Racecourse, 11am start
  
• South Otago – Sunday 8 November, Centennial Park, 2pm start
  
• Wānaka – Friday 20 November, Eely Point Reserve, 5pm start
  
• Queenstown – Saturday 21 November, Frankton Recreation Reserve, 11am start
  
• Alexandra – Friday 28 November, Molyneux Park, 5pm start

We’re looking for businesses and organisations to come on board as Pink or Orange Colour Station Sponsors at our 2026 Rainbow Run events in Dunedin, Waitaki, Wānaka, Queenstown, Alexandra and South Otago.

It’s a great opportunity to get your brand in front of local families and communities, bring your team along for a fun day out, and support an event that gets people moving while raising funds for a good cause.

What’s included?

By sponsoring a colour station, your business or organisation is at the heart of the action – connecting directly with hundreds of local families in a fun, positive and memorable environment.

Promotion & recognition: Your brand will be highlighted and thanked across Sport Otago’s social media channels before and after the event, with recognition through event marketing and local media coverage where possible.

Your brand at the event: Display your banners prominently at your sponsored colour station and get your team involved in the action, throwing colour and creating fun, personal interactions with participants.

Bring your people along: Receive ten complimentary tickets for staff, clients or community members to join the fun.

Make a difference: Your sponsorship helps support an event that promotes movement, health, wellbeing and inclusivity. All event proceeds, along with gold coin donations for Night ’n Day ice creams, support Sport Otago’s Sporting Chance Fund, helping local children experiencing financial hardship participate in sport.
