St Matthew’s Primary School Boards

St. Matthew's Primary School is governed by two Boards: the Board of Proprietors (BoP) and the Board of Trustees (BoT).

St Matthew’s Primary School is state-integrated, and our special character is as an Anglican school.

The Board of Proprietors

The Board of Proprietors is made up of members of the Waiapu Board of Diocesan Trustees. This Board appoints three representatives to the school's Board of Trustees. The BoP are responsible for preserving the special Anglican character and maintaining the land and buildings of our school.

The BoP are also members of the Board of Trustees.

Board of Trustees

St Matthew’s Board of Trustees (BoT) are responsible for the governance of St Matthew’s Primary School including financial responsibility and setting the strategic direction for the school with the best interest of the student at the centre.

The Board employs all staff at the school, including the principal, who manages the day-to-day operations of the school on behalf of the Board.

The Trustees (except the principal and the proprietors) are elected every three years. The Presiding Member of the Board of Trustees is also elected.
