SPC Cricket Overview

  • Season: Terms 1 and 4
  • Teams: All boys who want to play will be allocated into a team. Teams play in Saturday 40 or 50 over grades. We may also field a T20 team.
  • Training venues: school nets, school turf or Kilbirnie Park. Schedule confirmed at beginning of each year, most trainings are after school. As a guide: 1st and 2nd XI: Tuesday and Thursday; 3XI: Wednesday; Y9/10 Premier: Wednesday; Y9/10: Monday or Friday; T20: Monday or Friday.
  • Coaching: volunteer parents, professional coach for 1st XI
  • Traditionals programme – 1st XI and Colts (Year 9/10 select). See the calendar for further information about Traditionals and whānau support required.
  • There is sometimes a readjustment to cricket teams in Term 4, usually as a result of senior players departing. Any changes are at the discretion of the Head of Cricket.

Gear Requirements (Year 9/10-2nd XI)

  • College playing shirt (available exclusively at Kilbirnie Sports)
  • Navy playing pants
  • Navy clads

Fees

Year 9/10, T20: $180. Includes a cap in first season.

3rd XI: $250

2nd XI: $350

1st XI: $900

There may be additional costs, eg. if your son is selected for 'Traditionals', coaching opportunities may become available etc
