Sumner Longboarders are an affiliated Surfing club that focuses on community and connections. Based on Scarborough Beach, Sumner, Christchurch With a deep history in the club and a lot of long-lasting friendships we encourage the rivalry and bond surfing clubs can create between people.

With surfers in the club branching from young to old and experienced from advanced to beginners, we welcome people from all kinds of backgrounds and diversities. 

We pride ourselves on the calibre of our social events and long-running traditions within the club. With a multitude of camping weekends away with the club, you are never short-changed of great food, laughs and waves!

We also have the inaugural 'Kaikoura One Wave' against the Kaikoura Board Riders Club. A great weekend away involving a sit-down dinner with the club, a pool comp (almost more important than the actual surfing!) and then the cream on the top the annual one wave!

We also have a Mid Winter dinner (this will be skipped this year due to the 30th annaverisy dinner to be announced) and a great Christmas Party! Meeting normally once a month to discuss the important things, how good the surfs been lately, and what everyone has been up to all over a few drinks and a nibble.
