Looking after the physical welfare of our players is an important part of creating a positive football experience and helping players enjoy the game, develop and perform at their best.
Our approach to player welfare focuses on providing players, coaches and families with practical information and resources to support players throughout the season — from preparing well for the year ahead, through to injury prevention, age-appropriate physical development, female athlete health, concussion awareness and post-season strength and conditioning.
Working alongside New Zealand Football's Performance & Prevention programme, we will share relevant information and resources throughout the year to help our football community better understand how to prepare, perform and recover safely.
Our Player Welfare Plan below sets out the key areas we will focus on across the season and how we will support and promote these within the club.
