Welcome to the home of the Tauranga City Tridents.

As the NEW American Football Club in Tauranga, New Zealand, we are on the lookout for the next Tom Brady, Cooper Kupp, Derrick Henry, and Travis Kelce in the Western Bay of Plenty area. If you’re interested in joining us, get in touch with us via the contact tab or just come on down for a run around at one of our sessions.

Trainings are held at 5:30pm on Wednesdays on the lower field at Waipuna Park and 3.00pm on Sundays on the upper field (north end) at Waipuna Park. Coming fortnight’s schedule below:

Sunday 7th August 3.00pm - flag football training

Wednesday 10th August 5.30pm - flag football training

Sunday 14th August 1.00pm - women's flag football open day

Sunday 14th August 3.00pm - flag football training

Wednesday 17th August 5.30pm - flag football training

While the above is flag football heavy, we are also putting together a contact football programme. We have now secured funding for equipment and are awaiting shipment from the United States. We will make an announcement once we are ready to move forward with this.

As a club, we are building a supportive and inclusive culture and it’s something we’re extremely proud of.  We have players regularly turning up to training from all walks of life, so don’t be afraid to come past and give it a go. We’re also committed to decreasing barriers to participation - we don’t want membership fees or lack of equipment to put people off the sport. American football is a fantastic game and we want it to be accessible to everyone! We are happy to work with individuals or families who are keen to play, but might struggle with membership fees, to find a solution that allows as many people as possible to get involved in the sport.
