Te Atatu Netball Club
Presidents Team Creation Guidelines

  • The purpose of a Presidents team is to retain players within the Club structure, who, because of their age, family or work commitments, may otherwise sever their association with the Club completely.
  • It is recognized, these players may have much to offer in the way of Coaching, Management and/or administration skills etc., and by continuing their association with the Club, may be encouraged to move into these roles.

  • A Presidents Team caters primarily for women associated with the Club, through past or present membership, who are no longer able to commit to playing that requires their attendance at team practices.

  • Ideally, players in a Presidents team, should be over 30years of age and have similar playing capabilities to other members of the team.
  • Players under 30years of age may be accepted.
  • If a players skill or suitability is brought into question then the matter must be referred to the “Player Placement Panel” who consists of: The Presidents Team Coordinator, Club Coach Coordinator and any one of the following: Club President, Club Vice-President or Premier Team 1 Coach.
  • The majority of the Player Placement Panel must agree the player in question may remain in the Presidents Team.

  • A Presidents Team will ideally consist of 9-11 players.
  • If a vacancy exists in a Presidents team, an outside player who has not previously been a Club Member may be sought, after, first seeking interest from past or current Club Members.
  • An outside player, once she has taken the court 7 times in the current season, and having paid relevant fees, will then be deemed a Te Atatu Netball Club member with all rights and privileges of Past and Present Club members.

  • Should there be sufficient players to fill more than one Presidents team, then approval must be sought from the Executive, upon written application, to officially form another Presidents team.
  • Players from any previous season Presidents Team may form a Presidents Team provided the number of past Club/Presidents members, exceeds the number of ‘new’ Club or ‘outside’ player/s.
  • The Executive’s decision will take into consideration such matters as availability of uniforms, eligibility of players, etc.

  • The team shall not be required to practice, but at the discretion of team members may enter any number of tournaments that have been approved by the Club Executive.

  • A Presidents team is considered a full part of the Club and team members are obligated to:
  • pay the determined Club fees,
  • participate in fundraising events as all other Senior Club members
  • receive the same benefits as all other Senior Club Members

  • Fees do not include practice nights, i.e. lighting, court hire etc. as the team does not use these facilities.
