Learn to Swim:
This programme is run by dedicated volunteer coaches. It runs from when the pool opens in November, until Christmas (4-5 weeks) and from the end of January until March (5-6 weeks). At the completion of the season each child is presented with a colourful certificate from their coach outlining their skills.
Age:
All swimmers must be 5 years old or above on the 1st of January prior to the season starting
Times:
- Lessons run on a Tuesday and Thursday.
- The time of lessons is between 5pm and 6:30pm - different levelled groups are run at the same time to allow effective use of the pool.
- Lessons run for 20 minutes (level 1-3) and 30 minutes (level 4). It is essential all swimmers are ready and waiting poolside prior to the lesson's start time. There is a no refund policy for missed lessons.
Cancellation:
Lessons are only cancelled in extreme weather conditions. People will be notified via the Facebook page.
Learn to Swim Fees:
All fees are expected to be paid on registration, if this could be difficult please talk to a committee member BEFORE registration.
Internet banking or cash are the preferred option - account details are Temuka Swim Club 01-0885-0000007-02. Please use your full name as a reference.
Fees can only remain low if we all fund raise e.g. carnivals and grocery raffle
Juniors (everyone in 20-30 minute lessons)
1 child $85
2 children $160
3 children $235
Swimmer Attire and equipment:
We recommend togs (board shorts create drag and weight making it difficult for the swimmer) and long hair tied back. Goggles and caps can make the swimming experience more comfortable, please ensure goggles are fitted correctly prior to the lesson. We are happy for swimmers to wear rash/thermal top. Please ensure your child is sun-smart by applying a good layer of sunblock.
