Join us for Touch Footy For All - whether you're a beginner, haven’t played in a while, or a seasoned player, this event is your chance to play, connect, and make a difference. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Touch Footy For All is a unique Touch Rugby Festival designed to foster team spirit, promote health and make a meaningful impact on our communities.

In the lead-up to the Festival, we'll be hosting Skill, Fitness and Wellness Workshops to help you and your teammates improve your game in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Held across Te Waipounamu, Touch Footy For All is more than just a game of Touch - it's an event designed to foster team spirit, promote health, and make a meaningful impact on our communities.

Includes:

- A Festival Day

- Acess to MATES General Awareness Training (GAT) for those not already connnected to MATES.

- Access to any touch training desired at your workplace. 

PRE-EVENT OPPORTUNITIES

Get ready for the festival with our pre-event opportunities! 

We can arrange workplace specific training (for Touch Footy and at your venue of choice) designed for all skill levels, these sessions will help you and your workmates get active, learn touch footy skills and enhance your fitness.

Our workshops would focus on skill development and a little fitness ensuring you are well-prepared and energised for the festival day.​​​​​​​

This option is entirely optional.

FESTIVAL DAY 

Mark your calendars for an afternoon of touch rugby, team spirit and community support:

Date: Friday 16 October 2025, 2:00pm - 7:00pm

Locations: Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown and Invercargill

Features:

- TouchFit 360: group warm-up, cool-down and stretch sessions

- Access to onsite physio

- Prizegiving

Businesses can enter mixed male/female teams of up to 10 people for $500+GST per team which includes attendance at the Pre Event Workshops. ​​​​​​​

All games are social.

Q) Can anyone enter a team?

A) Absolutely! We welcome everyone from small, medium and large businesses not just the construction industry. Individuals can put a team in also.

Q) How many games will I get?

A) You'll have a minimum of two games, and we are aiming for 3 to 4. This will be entry dependent and 4 games is a suggested maximum.

Q) How much will go to MATES in Construction?

A) Once operational costs like field & venue hire etc. are covered all surpluses will go to MATES in Construction. We are also extremely glad some venues have come to the party to provide free facilities to ensure MATES in Construction get more to continue their awesome mahi.

OUR OFFICIAL CHARITY PARTNER IS MATES IN CONSTRUCTION

MATES is a charity established in 2019 to reduce the high level of suicide among New Zealand construction workers.

The MATES in Construction (MATES) model is an evidence-based suicide awareness and prevention programme for the Construction industry. MATES leverages industry participation and support to further embed suicide prevention and mental health awareness into our industry culture. The model delivers an integrated programme of community development and support, utilising training as a tool to raise awareness, reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking, help-offering and help-accepting behaviours.

Support is provided through clear pathways including education, training and workforce capacity strengthening to build communities of mates who help mates. Our industry has its own unique culture, and MATES adopts a cross-industry approach with a standardised and consistent programme, delivered face-to-face by Field Officers to the construction industry across Aotearoa.
