2020/21 Rule Modifications: Hockey NZ provided new rules for the 2020 season, taking into account the Covid-19 risks that need to be mitigated, even at Level One: Click here. These rules remain in place in 2021 while NZ is still in different alert levels.

Penalty shoot-outs will only be played for quarter final, semi final and finals matches. Other matches, including for playoffs for other positions will be based on pool play finishing positions. This is to minimise any delays impacting on later games.
Safety on the Turf: it is strongly recommended that face masks are worn by defenders on Penalty Corners.
Player Registrations: Individual online player registrations are due Saturday 2 April 2022. Please click on the orange button "Player Registration" on the right of this page which directs you to PlayHQ (Hockey NZ Membership and Competition Management system). Players must sign up first, before registering with their club. Teams will be audited before the season starts and during the first weeks of the competition to ensure all players are registered.
