THA is excited to announce our NHC women's coaching team for 2022.

Mel currently works for Bay of Plenty Hockey as the Coaching and Performance Manager. She has ten years of experience coaching representative hockey, mainly working in the youth space, having coached for Capital Hockey and Central Hockey in the U21 and U18 age groups. In 2016 and 2017, Mel was also selected for the Wellington chapter of the Sport NZ Performance Coach programme, getting to learn from top international coaches from different codes and sectors and learning alongside some of Wellingtons top performance coaches. Mel is a former NZ age group rep who also played in the NZ National Hockey League for Capital and Central.

Donna has a wealth of experience and success in the high-performance hockey space. She spent a number of years coaching Midlands NHL women and U18 men, winning several national titles. From 2018 -2020 Donna emerced herself in the international hockey scene managing both the Black Sticks and German womens teams.

We are very lucky to have two exceptional coaches developing our flagship women’s team.

The pair are excited to start the campaign, with trials in Junefast approaching, and tournament in Dunedin in September.
